Privacy Policy

App: xTimer Developer: tanabee Last updated: 2026-04-21

xTimer (“the App”) is a training timer application. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and with whom it is shared when you use the App.

1. Information the App Itself Collects

The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information directly. The App operates locally on your device for its core timer functionality.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The App uses on-device storage (Android SharedPreferences / iOS UserDefaults via the shared_preferences package) to remember your configuration between launches. The following settings are stored on your device only and are not transmitted to any server by the App:

  • Beat timer settings (BPM, duration, selected sound)
  • Interval timer settings (work seconds, rest seconds, rounds)

Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored settings.

3. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party SDKs. These services collect and process data independently of the App, under their own privacy policies.

3-1. Google Firebase Analytics

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to measure aggregate usage of the App. Events logged include:

  • Screen transitions (home, beat, interval)
  • Timer lifecycle events (start / complete / stop) with non-identifying parameters (BPM, duration in seconds, work / rest seconds, round count, selected sound kind)
  • Privacy policy link taps

Firebase Analytics processes this data on Google’s infrastructure under the Google Privacy Policy. It uses a pseudonymous app instance ID, not a personal identifier provided by the App. No names, email addresses, contact lists, or precise location are collected by the App itself.

3-2. Google AdMob

The App displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use information such as:

  • Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / iOS IDFA)
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Device information (model, OS version, language, etc.)
  • Ad interaction events

This information is used for ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping, and fraud prevention.

For details, see:

3-3. Advertising ID Controls

You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising at the OS level:

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads
  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (and Apple Advertising)

4. Data Retention

The App itself does not retain any data on its own servers, because it has none. Third-party SDKs retain data according to their own retention policies, referenced above.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

6. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here along with the updated date above.
