Privacy Policy

App: Offlingo Developer: tanabee Last updated: 2026-07-16

Offlingo (“the App”) is an offline translation application. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and with whom it is shared when you use the App.

1. On-Device Processing

Translation, speech recognition, text-to-speech, and text recognition (OCR) all run entirely on your device using on-device AI. The text you enter, your voice, camera images, and translation history are never sent to or stored on our servers or any third-party servers.

Your translation history is stored only in a local database on your device. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.

2. Permissions

The App requests the following permissions solely for its core features. Data captured through them is processed on your device and is not transmitted by the App.

  • Microphone — used for voice input and conversation translation.
  • Camera — used for camera translation (text recognition).

3. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services. These services collect and process data independently of the App, under their own privacy policies.

3-1. Google AdMob

The App displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use information such as:

  • Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID)
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Device information (model, OS version, language, etc.)
  • Ad interaction events

This information is used for ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping, and fraud prevention. For details, see:

3-2. Google Play Billing

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase (“Remove ads”). Payment is processed by Google Play, which handles your purchase history to complete the transaction and to restore your purchase on reinstall or a new device. The App only stores whether ads have been removed; it does not process or store any payment card details.

3-3. Google Analytics for Firebase

The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to measure aggregate usage of the App. Events logged include:

  • Screen views (conversation, translate, camera, history, settings)
  • Translation lifecycle events with non-identifying parameters (origin such as text / voice / conversation / camera, and language codes)
  • “Remove ads” purchase funnel events (started / completed)

The content of your translations — text, voice, and images — is never sent to Analytics. Firebase Analytics processes data on Google’s infrastructure under the Google Privacy Policy. It uses a pseudonymous app instance ID and may use the advertising ID, not a personal identifier provided by the App.

3-4. Firebase Crashlytics

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information (such as stack traces, device model, and OS version) so we can find and fix problems. Crash reports do not include the content of your translations.

3-5. Advertising ID Controls

You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising at the OS level:

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads

4. Data Retention

The App itself does not retain any data on its own servers, because it has none. Third-party services retain data according to their own retention policies, referenced above.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

6. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here along with the updated date above.
